[Feature Update] 🌟 New Referral Form built for capturing more referrals

Referral Form vs. Traditional Landing Page (+ how it works)

Hey it's Mica,

We spend a lot of time talking about the top of the referral funnel. How you promote your program through invite emails, discovery paths, and recruiters. How you can best hit your sharing window and how to automate adding customers over time.

One area we haven't given much attention lately is the referred friend experience. This is the bottom half of the referral funnel:

  1. Happy Customer

  2. Invite to Share

  3. Makes Recommendation

  4. Interest Capture (the referred friend experience)

This month, we improved the referred friend experience with a new Referral Form that better captures a referral’s interest.

Let's dive in. 👇👇

🤝 What is the Referral Form (why is it different)?

The Referral Form is the first page a referred friend sees when they click a share link or social post. Think of it as the handoff where your happy customer introduces their friend to your business.

It’s your welcome mat. No one lands on a Referral Form by accident. They were sent there from someone they trust. This makes them the warmest lead you get.

You’re not trying to sell to a stranger. You’re trying to capture the interest from a warm intro. This makes the Referral Form very different than a traditional landing page.

👋 How the Referral Form works

Here are the key Referral Form features.

Personalized experience, built for mobile

When a friend lands on the Referral Form, the first thing they see is the person who sent them: the referring member's name, their photo (or initials if there's no photo), and a quote.

Next, they see your logo and the reward offer for them to claim.

The page uses a clean, simple layout with the most important elements at the top, making it ideal for phones and smaller devices.

Collect additional details after you’ve captured interest

The Referral Form is a progressive form that presents additional fields only after you have captured the initial interest. For example, you may also want to collect phone number, address, or other custom fields.

Show the reward and next steps on the confirmation page

The instant the referred friend completes the Referral Form, their reward is presented right there on the confirmation page with clear instructions on how to redeem it.

A call-to-action button directs the referral to the next step in your process (i.e., schedule a call, make a purchase, sign up for an account, etc.).

Email them the same reward and redemption instructions so they won’t lose it and can complete the next steps when ready.

Upload coupon codes or have Referral Rock generate them for you to create a more tailored experience.

You can still tell referrals about your business (just deemphasized)

There’s still an opportunity to talk about your business and link out to your website for more information. It’s just presented lower on the page so the referred friend can explore further if needed.

This allows you to capture the initial excitement and interest without referrals getting bogged down in the details.
