[October 2025] 🚽 How to avoid the post launch stall (+ 2 updates)
Continuous Promotion, New Program Links, Data Exports
Hey it’s Mica,
A few months ago, we did a deep dive to understand why some referral programs fail after their initial launch while others go on to be wildly successful.
We looked at 952 programs over the last 9 years and found that 82% of those that stalled did so for the same single reason: inconsistent promotion after the launch.
Previously, we believed our job was to help customers launch first and then nudge them in the right direction. Our nudge to “promote more” wasn’t enough as customers didn't know how (or where) to keep promoting their program after the launch.
We realized this was a failure on our part to properly teach them. So we took a step back and spent the last month developing a new framework to solve the problem of inconsistent promotion. We call it "The 3 P's of Continuous Promotion".
Let's dive in (plus see our normal monthly feature updates at the end),

📢 The 3 P’s of Continuous Promotion
People are most likely to refer your business following a great experience. Not after sitting on your list for months when they barely remember you.
Despite doing the right things with their referral program (great rewards, happy customers, strong brand), too many businesses treat promotion as a one-off campaign and are surprised when their program stalls out after a few months.
Continuous Promotion is about turning everyday customer experiences into referral opportunities. Inviting customers to share after a great interaction with your business is how you grow your referral program over time.
That's where The 3 P's of Continuous Promotion come in:
Proactive Invites
Get ongoing referrals after key customer events. Connect your contact sources and send invites to share at the right time.

Passive Entry Points
Make the program accessible from anywhere. Place links where customers often pass by.

Program Recruiters
Turn your frontline rep's day-to-day interactions into high impact referrals. Setup your team as 1-on-1 program recruiters.

Implementing The 3 P's of Continuous Promotion: All of these promotion opportunities exist with or without Referral Rock, but we’re building them directly into the software to make continuous promotion easier. Keep an eye out for our mid-Nov feature update.
In the meantime, schedule a Program Audit if you need help implementing any of these promotion opportunities.
🌟 More One Click Access Links & Data Exports
This month we shipped two updates to help you promote and analyze your referral programs.
Zoho Campaigns One Click Access Link Added
We added Zoho Campaigns to our list of platforms that support One Click Access Links based on a customer request.
One Click Access lets your contacts click a link and instantly access their Member Portal to start sharing. No sign-up, no registration, no password to remember.
Don't see your platform? Tell us what tools you use and we'll investigate creating a custom link for you.
New Data Exports
We also released three new data exports to make it easier to report on more of your data:
Referral Visits - Track how your program is being shared and how referrals interact with your site. See which share methods (email, social, direct link) convert best, understand session length and page views, and spot friction points in your referral journey.
Member Visits - Analyze how members discover and engage with your program. Find your most engaged members (even if they haven't converted referrals yet), spot engagement drop-offs, and identify which promotion channels drive the most member activity.
Recruiter Data - See how many members and referrals each recruiter works with. Identify top performers, spot team members who need coaching, and build incentive programs based on actual performance data.
⏮ And in case you missed it…
