Hey it’s Mica,

We love HubSpot - the tool itself and the customers who use it. We use it internally as our system of record (I’m talking 100s of workflows, reports, lists, sequences, etc.) so we know a thing or two about making it sing.

We’re heavily involved in the HubSpot ecosystem (Inbound conference, know many app partners, and work with several HubSpot agencies).

You opened this email, so I assume you use HubSpot or are familiar with the tool. I’ll skip the basics and jump into our HubSpot integration and the more advanced use cases we now support.

Got questions on how to integrate HubSpot (or any other system) with Referral Rock? Just reply to this email (I answer each one personally).

Now, let's sync up! 🎵

🛠️ HubSpot integration overview

In case you didn’t know, HubSpot is a robust platform (marketing, sales, and service) and is the system of record for many businesses. Their broad feature set enables seamless integration across the entire HubSpot stack.

🤝 Enrich HubSpot contacts (updated)

Whether promoting your referral program with HubSpot email campaigns or running reports in HubSpot, you’ll want to sync your member data to HubSpot contacts.

We’ve always synced member data to HubSpot. Common examples include:

  • Contact Information (Name, Email, Phone Number)

  • Unique Share Link

  • Dashboard (Portal) Link

  • # of Rewards

  • # of Referrals

Now you can map custom properties collected in Referral Rock to HubSpot contacts.

🏷️ Update referrals from HubSpot activity (updated)

Want to offer rewards when a referral becomes a paying customer (or other future event) rather than new leads? We’ve always allowed you to update referrals when a Contact, Company, or Deal equals a certain value. Common examples include:

  • Deal stage = closed won

  • Contact/Company lifecycle = opportunity

Now you can update referrals (and associated rewards) when a HubSpot property meets additional conditions:

- Exists or Does Not Exist (example “Installation Date Exists”)
- Greater Than or Less Than (example “Amount is Greater Than $5,000)

🔍 Sync to HubSpot using External ID (new)

Previously, you could only sync members to HubSpot contacts based on email address.

Now you can use External ID to match members to HubSpot contacts. Common examples of External IDs include:

- Internal User IDs
- Phone Numbers
- Order IDs
