[Feature Update] 🌟 QR codes, better direct add, and social share configs

Improved sharing for your referral programs

This is a Feature Updates edition, where we go deep on a feature and how it enhances the referral experience. Other editions include Insights and Monthly Roundups.

Hey it’s Mica,

Sharing is one of the two leading indicators of successful referral programs. Without sharing, everything else falls flat (no sharing = no referrals).

This month we’ve released several features to improve the sharing experience.

  • Share via QR codes (better offline sharing)

  • Updates to direct add experience

• Turn off sharing options you don’t want

Now, let's jam! 🎸

A lot of sharing happens offline. This used to be a challenging and cumbersome process. You had to write down a long URL, copy a code + remember a website, or move the sharing back online (i.e., send an email or SMS instead).

Now your sharers can display a QR code on their phone or download and print it out. When scanned, the QR code directs new referrals to the referral page (just like the share links).

QR codes are a new sharing option that can be shown in the Member Portal or included in your program emails. They’re a convenient way to share offline without revealing any contact information.

Use merge tag {MEMBER_REFERRAL_CODE_QRCODE} to add the QR code to any member email sent from Referral Rock.

➕ Major updates to direct add experience

Many businesses ask members to log referral contact information to get credit. The member adds the referral’s details in the Member Portal so a sales rep can reach out (or for other tracking/engagement purposes).

We’ve improved the direct add experience for the member with:

  • Easier to read form fields

  • Better error messages

  • Faster to add multiple referrals

  • More mobile-friendly

🔗 Disable off brand sharing options

Sometimes a certain social media or messaging platform doesn't align with your brand or use case. Now, you can control what platforms and messaging apps show up in your share widgets. This allows you to limit sharing to your preferred channels.

See customizing the share experience for more details.
